Friend to Friend Country Ham Breakfast Jan 30, 2010

Despite the Blizzard of 2010, we held our annual Friend to Friend Breakfast. Several lodge members arrived around 5 am to start cooking the meal consisting of country ham, sausage, eggs, biscuits, and gravy, along with coffee, milk, & orange juice. Breakfast was served at 8 am, followed by a short video explaining free Masonry, and a talk by P.M. Bruce Trice.

Several members brought guest and I would estimate we had around 10 guest. One already asked how he could join and was quickly given a petition, which he completed and turned back in.

We currently have two entered apprentices, and four coming February 8 to receive their entered apprentice. Looks like we are going to have a busy start to the year.

Scholarship Program ~ Jerusalem 9

James Roll, PM, Secretary of Jerusalem Lodge No. 9 presents Henderson Community College Nursing Program student, Jessica Brown, with the second installment of $500 to complete her $1000 Scholarship awarded to her by Jerusalem Masonic Lodge No. 9 for her first year in the nursing program. We split the payment up over the two semesters.

Jerusalem Lodge No. 9 is fortunate to have had members leave some money to the lodge upon their passing and their expressed wish was that the money be put into an interest bearing account with the interest used to provide scholarships to our local community college nursing program.

Over the years we have been able to help several students financially achieve their dreams of obtaining their nursing degree.  With sound leadership and watch care over the fund, we hope to carry on the wishes of our deceased brothers for years to come.
